چکیده

A system is being tested for recovery of rf power by conversion to DC pulsed power. The system consists of a cyclotron autoresonance accelerator (CARA) [1,2], and a single stage depressed collector (Fig. 1). A 50 kV, 5 A electron beam is injected into CARA, and up to 1 MW of S-band rf power is absorbed by the beam with efficiency exceeding 95%. The beam then passes to a single stage depressed collector. RF to DC collection efficiencies of 73% are predicted but, due to collector breakdown above 125 kV, a maximum collector efficiency of only 41% has been observed to date.

3d Design of the Fusion-fem Depressed Collector Using the General Particle Tracer (gpt) Code

The “Rijnhuizen” Fusion Free-Electron Maser (FEM) is the pilot experiment for a high power, mm-wave source, tunable in the range 130-260 GHz. The FEM has generated 730 kW output power during 10 μs pulses. To increase the overall efficiency to over 50 % and to reach a pulse length of at least 100 ms, an electron beam charge and energy recovery system is currently being designed and installed. Th...

Design and beam transport simulations of a multistage collector for the Israeli EA-FEM

A four stage asymmetric type depressed collector has been designed for the Israeli mm-wave FEM that is driven by a 1.4MeV, 1.5A electron beam. After leaving the interaction section the spent beam has an energy spread of 120 keV and 75pmmmrad normalized beam emittance. Simulations of the beam transport system from the undulator exit through the decelerator tube into the collector have been carri...

High Performance Lateral Schottky Collector Bipolar Transistors on SOI for VLSI Applications

Advanced bipolar transistors play a vital role in RF/Microwave applications. But they need to satisfy stringent demands on device performance parameters such as β, gm, and fT. Many of the bipolar technologies developed to meet these demands are vertical structures and suffer from many non−ideal effects at high collector current densities. In the present work, to enhance the performance limits o...

Selective separation of galena and sphalerite from pyrite-rich lead-zinc ores: A case study of the Kooshk mine, Central Iran

In this research, the selective flotation of galena and sphalerite minerals was evaluated from a pyrite-rich lead-zinc sample. An optimum mixture of selective collectors against pyrite and also organic/inorganic pyrite depressants was obtained in the flotation of galena and sphalerite by an experimental mixture design. The effect of different collectors and pH values were investigated in the ob...

Investigating the effects of particle size and dosage of talc nanoparticles as a novel solid collector in quartz flotation

In this study, hydrophobic talc nanoparticles were applied as a novel class of solid flotation collector. The aim of this work was to understand the effect of talc nanoparticles size and dosage on the quartz flotation recovery. X-ray analysis, dynamic light scattering, and scanning electron microscopy were conducted. Flotation tests were performed in modified a Hallimond flotation cell. The Zet...
